WHAT EYE KNOW

On March 9, 2014 eye celebrated a milestone birthday and as eye reflect back over my life, here are 4 things eye know.

1.  Time waits 4 no one.  Eye tell all young people to dream big and go 4 it.  If eye knew then what eye know now, my life would be so different.

2.  The things my mom told me that eye didn't listen to were ALL TRUE!  Eye wish eye would have listened to mom more.  She will be 90 this year and is such a awesome inspiration to me.  Young people can really learn a lot from their parents and elders, just listen.  They have been where you are and they know more than you think.

3.  Things happen, good and bad, that's life. Eye finally learned to be honest and live my truth.  Eye'm no longer afraid of what others think.  When eye create it is always from my "good place" even when it is not received that way.  When eye can't do something, eye say no and not beat myself up about it.

4.  EYE AM HAPPY BEING ME.  It took all these years to love the skin eye'm in.  Eye had a unforgettable birthday as eye was showered with love and knowledge from my close friends and family.

EYE AM SO BEYOND BLESSED!

Happy Birthday Sister...

Shadow Boxed
Birthday Gift

c. 2009-2011
Yolanda was shocked & very surprised by my gift this year.
She loved it & I loved making it 4 her.

Inside the box:
(1) Solid Perfume Brooch
(1) Anthropologie Gift Card
(1) Paper Doll (in her likeness)

My cousin & I took Yolanda to "Birthday" lunch @ Chef's Point.
Chef Franson is an amazing artist in the kitchen
and an awesome person.
He came to our table and we were honored
and enjoyed our dining experience
from the time we walked in until the time we walked out.
We ordered appetizers as follows:

What Nots
Mushroom caps hand stuffed with 3 cheeses & baked
in Chef's own savory garlic butter

Fried Green Tomatoes
Fresh green tomatoes deep fried & served with ranch or red sauce

Chicken Wings
Your choice of boneless wings or bone-in wings covered in our
homemade, kicked up wing sauce with creamy ranch dressing

4 lunch we ordered:

Blackened Stuffed Chicken (featured on Drive-Ins, Diners & Dives)
Hand stuffed with pepper jack cheeses & fresh crab meat
smothered in asiago sauce served over angel hair pasta

Blackened Stuffed Pork Chop (featured on Drive-Ins, Diners & Dives)
(same as above)

Better Than Sex Fried Chicken
Old fashion buttermilk marinated,
flour coated tender chicken with a secret ingredient
to make it "better than sex"
served with mashed potatoes & gravy

Words alone cannot tell you how good this food is!
You have to go and eat 4 yourself...and
the chicken IS BETTER THAN SEX!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOLANDA!

I sketched & hand-cut the label.
I also made a bookmark out of the invitation I received

nina june year 1...

Parker & I attended Nina June's 1st year birthday party today.  Her mommy Mandy, along w/her mom & Nina's ya ya, threw a very lovely party 4 a very lovely 1 year old.  Her big sis' Jolie Kate sang happy birthday to her and all of Nina's family & friends had food, drink & cupcakes in her honor.  The cupcakes were made by another friend of ours Molly Griffin.  She is in the cakery business as of late but @ post time I  have no business details.  I will, however, get them.  The cupcakes were wonderful...kudos to Molly. The sketch of Nina June was part of her birthday gift that accompanied a parachute Parker & I gifted too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NINA PINA HEAD!
