and sharing art .

Illustration Friday is a weekly artistic exercise I participate in.

 I had the ladies pick a word from my eyeglass case

to sketch.  All words were from my previous Illustration Friday exercises.

Canton 1st Monday Trade Days...

I went to Canton 1st Monday Trade Days on Saturday w/Angie, Kachelle, Kalisha & Yolanda.

We had a ball, but it was hot as __________(fill in the word).

We sang, laughed, planned a trip together & ate very bad...

Kachelle loves Michael Jackson!  With that said, we found a vendor, Junk Exchange,

and started looking @ all the old memorabilia they had.  We found a Jackson's Victory Tour

ticket...OMG Kachelle went nuts!!!!!  I'm so happy for her great find and this was a perfect end

to a fabulous Canton trip. 

 

 

Girlfriends & Art...

I've been asked to chat & sketch w/a group of incredible woman.   This private event is being put together by sister's Kachelle & Kalisha.  I will be sharing my art journey w/some sketchin' sprinkled in.  I'm so honored and touch that they asked me to share my story in hopes to empower these women to follow their dreams as I am now.

  

Restaurant Week 2010 The Craft...Review

Let's start with the lovely gifts Kachelle & Kalisha, our hostesses, had waiting 4 us @ our table.

  

 Our waiter, Joshua Smith, appeared on the scene to welcome us to Craft & present us with our menus.  He explained to us that we get all 3 courses .

ALL 4 COURSES WERE CRAZY GOOD!!!!  WE COULD NOT BELIEVE WE RECEIVED ALL THE ABOVE COURSES  FOR $35.00 per person...CAN YOU BELIEVE ALL THAT FOOD, THAT'S NUTS.  THE ENTIRE STAFF @ CRAFT ARE AWESOME & SUPER ATTENTIVE.  JOSHUA EVEN TOOK PHOTO'S 4 US AND MADE A CAMEO IN ONE.

Overall, Chef Tom Colicchio's  food was so good we forgot to order wine. The food was intoxicating enough and just when we thought it couldn't get any better, Joshua sent us home w/muffins 4 breakfast in the morning!!! Who does that?...CRAFT, THAT'S WHO.

 I was on a foodie high all the way home & if you want to experience over the top food intoxication, service and abidance (omg the place is gorgeous) I suggest you go to Craft & GET YOU SOME! 

I'm happy, full & sleepy so no sketching tonight...will sketch in the morning after I eat my breakfast muffin, thanks again Joshua :)

Restaurant Week 2010...The Craft @ The W Hotel

It's girls nite out today and we are going to dinner @ Craft in the W Hotel Dallas.  Hosted by my dear friends, who are also sisters, Kachelle & Kalisha.

Following the lead of its much-imitated and adored New York namesake, Craft Dallas serves the freshest seasonal ingredients à la carte. Plate by plate, Chef Tom Colicchio's creations are pure decadence, showing us he didn't earn five James Beard Awards for nothing.

Perfectly Crafted

A foodie's delight, exceptionally fresh, peak-of-the-season ingredients are perfectly prepared. The seasonal menu is ever-changing, but may include gems such as Roasted New Zealand Venison, Black Trompette Mushrooms, Diver Scallops or Cippolini Onions.

Emily & I had a lovely visit!  Her son, Lindsey, and my son, Parker also had a great time.  It's Lindsey's birthday today and this is what  I gave him:

Emily...

Going to Jokes and Jazz Latin Cuisine tonight to celebrate and meet up with my best friend Emily who is visiting from my hometown of Evansville, IN.   She got here on Tuesday and is staying with her Texas friends and tonight she is coming to my house. 

I may do some sketching before bed tonight but I have a feeling Emily & I will be up late sipping wine, laughing and catching up.

Here's 1 of 4 sketches I'm working on @ the moment in hopes of finishing this Sunday. 

i'm sooo sleepy...

All eight (8) of us girls loved Sex and the City 2!  We drank "Carrie's Royal" which was a mixture of Moet Champagne, Raspberry Liquor, Triple Sec & Mint.  Snacks we munched on were:

• popcorn
• m & m's
• sour patch kid's
• cheese & fruit trays

To make this evening extra special I made us all SATC buttons to wear.  Everyone was pleasantly surprised and loved my little gift.

Overall, I loved the movie and it was great to see Miranda in a brighter light.  For true SATC fans, they will understand that this movie is just another peak into their world.  The fashion was crazy and judging from my above button, my favorite outfit is Carrie in the Jador Dior 8 tee.  

LET THE GAMES BEGIN...I MUST FIND THAT TEE.   "My name is Yvonne Wilson & I'm a seeker of great fashion".
